Eight candidates are running for four seats in Bethel
Big decisions lay at the hands of Bethel residents during the upcoming election with the presence of eight contenders for four open village council seats in November. Three current members of council will be campaigning for their seats against a force of five newcomers who are each searching to find a place on the embattled board. Longtime member John Swarthout will be joined by appointed members Donna Gunn and Travis Dotson in seeking another term on the council, while newcomers Linda Davis, Margaret Guenther, Kenny Patterson, George Schramm and Doug Stacy will also seek a seat.
Guenther, Stacy and Patterson were unavailable for comment.
Davis, 48, a healthcare worker, said that she has lived in the village for most of her life and would like to employ her talents as a good listener to aid the village. Growth, she said, is very important to the village.
