In about one year, the doors of a new senior housing complex, which will soon be under construction on Amelia-Olive Branch Road, will be open.
Groundbreaking for the 40-unit independent-living complex was held Oct. 7 at First Baptist Church of Amelia.
The complex, which has been in the planning stages for nearly two years, will be the fifth senior center run by Clermont Senior Services. Housing complexes are currently open in Goshen, Williamsburg and New Richmond. A complex is under construction in Felicity and the Amelia complex is expected to open in late 2006 or early 2007, according to George Brown, executive director of Clermont Senior Services.
Individuals attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Clermont County Senior Services housing complex pretend to dig into the ground at First Baptist Church of Amelia. The ceremony had to be moved from the three-acre building site off Amelia-Olive Branch Road because of rain.
