New Richmond and Bethel square off in key SBC confrontation
New Richmond, Bethel, Goshen, and Milford have, of late, been the winningest high school boys varsity soccer teams in Clermont County. The Lions and the Tigers will bear up to do battle at Bethel tonight (Oct. 6, 6 p. m.).
New Richmond shut down Georgetown 3-0 with Brian Weber, Nick Erland, and Greg Mott scoring. Ryan Piper made three saves at the goal. Blanchester was also blanked 6-0 as Weber netted three goals, Erland two, and Bryan Leffler the other. Drew Logan made eight saves. The Lions and Batavia tied 2-2. Weber and Eland tallied for the Red and Black and Jason Strine and Jeff Weaver for the Green and White.
The Lions are 6-0-4 overall and 5-0-3 in the Southern Buckeye Conference. They and Bethel tied earlier in the season at New Richmond 2-2.
