Hurricane relief efforts begin in Clermont County
Efforts large and small are being undertaken across Clermont County to help those whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Some of the efforts undertaken to date include a donation of 900 gallons of drinking water by Mercy Hospital Clermont, four Miami Township police officers who left for Louisiana Monday, and the donation of money raised for the homecoming parade by the Batavia High School Student Council.
Mercy Hospital Clermont is giving the water to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, which is in turn taking it to the hurricane victims.
Nearly 20 volunteers from Holy Trinity Church in Batavia and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Anderson loaded the water into pickup trucks, SUV
