Ogden has coached football at Paint Valley, Amelia, Blanchester, Wyoming, and Batavia high schools and was the head coach at all of these institutions, but one. He has also coached wrestling, basketball, track and field, and baseball on the high school or junior high school level.

A resident of the Batavia Township village of Olive Branch, he and his wife, Char, are the parents of two adult daughters, Tracy and Amy.

He has missed being involved in high school sports having been active since the 1960s (a 1966 graduate of Loveland).
