Man charged with beating man and kidnapping woman
An assault and kidnapping at the Pebble Brook Apartments on Aug. 25 have left one man in serious condition at University Hospital and landed a second in jail. Arrested was Kenneth Brinegar Jr., 23, whom Miami Township Police say beat the current boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend before kidnapping the woman.
According to the Miami Township Police Department, at 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 25, Brinegar confronted his ex-girlfriend Jessica Young, 24, and her new boyfriend, Jake Hample, 18, in the apartment complex parking lot, at which time he allegedly beat Hample, causing injuries severe enough to require AirCare flight to University Hospital. Then, leaving Hample at the scene, Brinegar reportedly forced Young to leave with him.
