Goshen man, 42, arrested in attack on 13-year-old girl

A 42-year-old Goshen Township man was arrested Aug. 25 for the rape of a girl, age 13, whom police say was lured into his vehicle and driven to a remote location.

According to a press release from the Miami Township Police Department, Dennis R. McClendon, of 306 Carol Court, raped the girl in his automobile after buying alcohol for the victim and driving her away from highly-traveled areas of the county. According to the release, after the rape occurred, McClendon then drove her to a second location, where the girl reportedly escaped and ran home.

The release states that the victim did not sustain any injuries from the incident and was released from a hospital emergency room after treatment to return to her parents. McClendon is not related to the victim, but is apparently known to the family of the victim.
