A controversial zone change was halted for the time being by Batavia Township officials after a large number of residents neighboring the land voiced their protest in public meetings.
The land in question, just over 4.5 acres north of state Route 32 at the Bauer Road and Elmwood Road intersection, was targeted by developers for an unknown business style of development. The straight zone change to B2 would allow a variety of possible businesses to be placed on the property.
