The death by drowning of a 25-year-old man from Mexico is being called a tragic case of fatigue by authorities investigating the July 26 incident. Ismael Briones, who has been working somewhere in the Clermont County area, died after swimming to a buoy at East Fork State Park and becoming too tired to make it back to shore.

According to Clermont County Sheriff Tim Rodenberg, their office received a call around 8:30 p.m. that evening saying that a man in his 20s had gone under water and never resurfaced. A joint water search and rescue team came to the scene and, after about three hours, found the body using sonar. Briones was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene by the Clermont County Coroner.

Lt. Kelley Hale of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Investigative Unit, said that everything points to fatigue, but the case will remain open until an autopsy is performed.
