Trustees, county at odds over road expansion pledge

At the July 5 meeting of the Batavia Township Trustees, the board voiced displeasure at the county after receiving notification after-the-fact that they had pledged $25,000 towards an extension of Old SR 74 to UC Clermont. The problem, however, was that they had not pledged the money, they did not know that their support was being pledged in the grant proposal, and the township opposed the road extension at that location, but rather favored an extension from Clough Pike.
