Members of Hike/Bike Trail Committee to begin clearing
Volunteers from Williamsburg and the Williamsburg-Batavia Hike Bike Trail committee have been given permission to begin clearing along a portion of land which is expected to be part of the Williamsburg-Batavia Hike Bike trail.
During the Williamsburg Village Council meeting on June 23, Mayor Mary Ann Lefker announced that there is a lease agreement between the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the Division of Wildlife. The lease agreement will allow a committee of volunteers to do some clearing and trail work on a section of land which runs from Williamsburg to the East Fork State Park campground. The work will officially be a gift to wildlife from the volunteer committee.
The work is being completed in anticipation of the proposed Hike Bike trail project.
