Matt Chacksfield of Miami Township enjoyed a very successful prep career at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Unfortunately, I did not know he was another outstanding Clermont County athlete until three weeks ago when he joined our other county East Cincinnati football representatives for a photograph. The photo was taken at the practice of the East team for the annual Greater Cincinnati High School East-West All-Star Football Game.
Chacksfield, 6-feet, 3-inches, 220-pounds, played linebacker in the East-West battle. He was selected because of his stellar play for the CHCA Eagles that earned him All-District and All-Miami Valley Conference honors. He was a three-year letterman on the gridiron, a four-year letter earner in track and field and a letterman in wrestling. He also competed in basketball as a freshman and sophomore.
He was an outside linebacker and wide receiver on the gridiron. Very fast for a person of his size, Chacksfield just missed qualifying (only eight/tenths of a second) for the state meet in the 110-meters high hurdles. He also was a success in the 300-meters intermediate hurdles and the 1,600-meters relay. He wrestled at 215-pounds. He was an MVC all-star on the track and the mat and was the Eagles
