Groups get together to clean up East Fork
Volunteers from several local organizations got together Tuesday, June 14, to clean up a section of the East Fork of the Little Miami River in Batavia Township.
The volunteers, representing the Clermont County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Clermont County Office of Environmental Quality, the clermont County Park District, and the Batavia Township Trustees, are part of a group that has adopted this stretch of waterway much as groups adopt and pick up litter along sections of roadway.
Jay Dorsey, Eastfork Watershed Coordinator for the Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District, said that at an adopt-a-waterway event last year, about 30 tires were removed from this location. But he said that there were too many tires to for the group to remove at that time.
